The JC/DV Productions Trivia Challenge

Ok, let’s have some fun!  During the week of Monday 11.09.2009 – Friday 11.13.2009,  we will ask a new trivia question at 10:00 AM EST each day on the JC/DV Productions Facebook Wall.  The FIRST person to answer correctly by replying with a comment to the wall post will win a prize which will also be announced when the question is posted.  So if you’re not a fan already, join up!

The answer to each question shouldn’t be too hard to find out although it might take a little searching either on the internet or maybe even inside the store…

So, get ready for Monday at 10:00 AM EST!

JC/DV Productions’ New Home!

I don’t think I have ever really announced the new location publically!  DOH!  Change is a good thing… the old space was getting a little small and had the opportunity to get a larger space with a bonus– A STORE FRONT!  The old space was up on the 3rd floor and hidden, but now we are visible and accessible on Stone Drive!

Now we are offering services available for almost anyone locally!  All the work done right in our office!

  • Home Movie Transfers from old VHS, VHS-C, Hi8, or Digital8 to DVD and EVEN take the new consumer (or prosumer) High Definition AVCHD or HDV Tape and put on Blu-ray Disc or downconvert to DVD! (Working on providing old 8mm and Super 8mm film conversions too… Telecine Style!  Not “show-on-a-wall-and-record” setup ;)
  • Family Photo Montages.  We’ll take your favorite photos (printed or digital) and create a cool video in either Standard Definition DVD or High Definition Blu-ray Disc!
  • Disc Duplication.  We’ll create copies of your CD, DVD and Blu-ray Discs for you along with capability of full color printing right to the disc!  (Original content only!  No commercial or copywritten works duplicated!  So don’t ask… I thought I wouldn’t have to say this, but people already have asked!)
  • Digital Signage.  We have been developing and testing this for a bit of time now AND IT IS NOW READY!  Digital Signage is a really cool product and service that almost any business, church, group/club, tradeshow booth, etc. can utilize to get the message across to the prospective audience.  Basically we create a loop of a business’ products/services, an organization’s messages/announcements, and many other possibilities.  The loop is FULL 1080 High Definition content shown on a multitude of sizes of displays from 22″ to 52″.  There is not a network for you to manage, no software to learn and all you have to do is leave the unit on or turn it off and turn it back on and the system does everything else automatically.  We take the content you have already (graphics, text, pictures, etc) OR we can create it all for you!

If you are local and not too far away (or you just want to get out for a good drive), we’d love for you to visit our store and check out our new offerings. (Would still love to film your wedding too.)

JC/DV Productions is making progress!!!

WOW!  What an exhillarating last couple of weeks!  On Monday March 16th, I went to Boston, MA and gave a presentation to the National Professional Videographer’s Association of New England.  I had such a great time and Joe and Denise Goldsberry of Media Concepts were great hosts and took me sight-seeing and opened their home to me during my stay there.   Time got away from us, and they even packed up the 5 posters I shipped there to send back to me!  Thanks again Joe and Denise!

At the end of the presentation (I kind of ran over in time a little) Whit Wales asked me to sit in a chair as he wanted to acknowledge me for the presentation… I was thinking something like a certificate of appreciation or something when he told me that.  BUT FIRST, he wanted to show an “Event DV Promo”.  You see, the 2008 Event DV Top 25 awards was to be announced the next day on EventDV-TV.  So, I was getting a little more curious as I saw Steve-Nathans Kelley talking about this and that for the Top25 awards…  I thought, “Nah, they’re just wanting to announce to the PVA so they can all log on the next morning to watch.  Then BAM, he went right into announcing one of the winners… IT WAS ME!  I’m still in shock over it.  So, a HUGE THANK YOU TO ALL THAT VOTED FOR ME!!!

This award is basically the “hottest and most influential in the world” and is voted by peers–other videographers and not by clients, etc.  I feel very honored to be on this list amongst some of the greatest of people I know in the industry.  Though there are MANY more people/companies that I feel should be on the list that isn’t, I’m sure they will some day.  The biggest part of this is being “influential”.  The votes I casted were for people that that inspired ME… not just if they do great movies, films or videos.  There are other awards for judging works of art, but this is kind of both.

It was great to see many new faces on this year’s list…  Again, I feel honored to be on this list with them!  If you would like to see the video announcements of the winners, visit EventDV-TV and watch Part 1, 2 and 3.  My announcement is in Part 1 at 4:24.

More good news will follow in a couple days… its a BIG suprise!
