About 8 hours of driving + 4 hours of filming + 2 loving souls + 1 extremely happy couple = a fantastic wedding shoot for us!
The wedding was held at St. Phillip Catholic Church in Franklin, TN at 3:00 PM and the reception was held at Embassy Suites a couple miles away. I met and worked alongside Jeanell & David with Dreamland Pictures who was also very nice to work with as well as the crew from Spangler Entertainment again.
Sarah & Derek were the smart ones and booked us June 2006 I believe it was for the hot date of 7.7.2007. I bet I had to turn down about 10 weddings off the top of my head for this date throughout the year. Anyways, we enjoyed this wedding very much (even though we got back to town about 4:00 AM) Sarah & Derek were very nice and pleasant to work with as well as their family and friends! We also did something VERY unique this time… we strategically placed a microphone on Sarah, the bride! I ran the idea past her and she was excited to try it, and it worked beautifully! This was NOT an invasive procedure. I simply taped the microphone about 1/2″ from the top center of the front of the dress before she put it on and let the small thin cable hang down the front. She put the dress on, and about 30 minutes prior to the ceremony, I started the recorder and we plugged the cable into the recorder and she attached it to the garter (had a holder for the recorder with a clip on it.) She said the most uncomfortable thing was the garter itself. She was able to remove the mic and recorder without taking her dress off in a matter of seconds…. This process did yield better audio for the bride, and will work wonders when we get a “whisperer” if we can tell that ahead of time. This is a new process that is available to our brides if they wish to do this and if they put their dress on while we are there…. inquire at booking if you are interested in this.
OK, enough behind the scenes talk… here is their trailer:
What a beautiful wedding at The Rose Hill Wedding Chapel in Johnson City, TN! Jessica & Forrest is such a wonderful couple, they made me feel just like one of their friends all day long! I got the chance to play with a new .45x wide angle lens and made for a couple interesting shots (outside of church and the inside while empty.) Forrest’s friend Will gave a VERY good performance with his singing and even made friends with the band at the reception… Ivy Road (Check them out, they are GREAT!)
What a BEAUTIFUL afternoon!!! The wedding was a couple of hours away at the lovely Inn at Crestwood in Blowing Rock, NC. Lucy and Pat (Patrick) were a super nice couple and once again, many wonderful friends and family! The ceremony was beautiful as Pat played the guitar for Lucy and everyone sang… there were also some great musicians and soloists… I may end up posting the full ceremony on here!
Here is their cinematic trailer. A little different that most as it is slower, but added lots of natural audio and the sunset was just awesome at the end! (I just wished they would have been there another 30 minutes as when we were packing up, the sky was a deep with color, reds, blues, etc…..
Last Saturday (June 2, 2007) we filmed the wedding of Lauren & Steven in Knoxville, TN. All of their family and friends were just super nice and fun all day long! Thanks everyone! A few months ago, I went along with them to their photo engagement session with Dan & Tammie (Dan Browning Photography) as both Dan and I wanted to do something a little bit “different”. Some videographer friends of mine has done some cool videos with the photo sessions and I wanted to try one too. Turned out pretty good from the responses I’ve received already. We showed this clip at the reception as well….
